Heron Preston Launches L.E.D Studio: An Innovation hub to Explore Creative, Sustainable ideas.

“Creativity has the power to change the world; it’s the greatest rebellion in existence.

Heron Preston, a designer known for his focus on responsible production methods, is launching a new venture called L.E.D Studio to explore fresh ideas and engage a younger generation on environmental issues. The studio will serve as a platform, community, and innovation hub, allowing Preston to experiment with concepts and collaborations that prioritize environmental and social consciousness. The launch includes various projects such as a clothing recycling program, a community social network, and a retail store, as well as initiatives to diversify representation in the fashion industry. Preston is aiming to make sustainable practices relatable and culturally relevant while incorporating them into his work.

Outfitted in his signature fluorescent orange hue, the space is comprised of four different components — a social community (WORLD), a recycling and donation program (EXCESS), a scholarship program (HP L.E.D.), as well as a retail store and a YouTube channel. SERVICE CENTER, is a client-focused creative agency, rounding out the robust offerings.

To commemorate its launch, Heron Preston collaborated with Gustavo Barroso, Matt Pecina and Devon Turnbull. The partnership yielded a one-piece low-sitting table crafted from reclaimed cardboard, chairs made from reclaimed hockey sticks in partnership with Studio Guapo and the Ojas turntable, which repurposes vintage Technics 1300 motors."

“I believe in meaningful disruption and creating with purpose. L.E.D. Studio is my private art & design practice open to everyone equally, set to enrich our understanding and meaning of how Less Environmentally Destructive concepts can take shape in culturally relevant and relatable ways. It’s my brain’s playground”
